Anika Noi Rose, an American actress and performer, is an eminent name in the entertainment industry. Her best-known role is as Tiana the first Disney African American princess. Rose was named an official Disney Legend in 2011. Rose was an Oscar-winning actress who performed the role of Lorrell in Dreamgirls. Anika Noni (born June 6th in 1972) is a vocalist and American actor. Her most well-known role is in the role of Tiana the Disney's first African American princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in 2011. She is best known for the role of Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar Award-winning film Dreamgirls (2006), and her portrayal of LaVerne, the Jukebox Ganner from the Starz TV series Power. Also, she is known for her performance in the theatre, particularly for her starring roles as Emmie Thibodeaux, in Caroline or Change, the Broadway performance of Caroline or Change (2004) in which she was awarded the Tony Award for Best Featured actress in a Musical. She also played Beneatha Younger as part of the Broadway revival of A Raisin in the Sun (2014) for which she was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Musical.
