Aurora
Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. The name she is most commonly used for her professional work is Aurora and often stylized with uppercase letters as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves by Decca Records was released on May 15th of 2015 it received a raving review from bloggers and music critics as well as from the media. She's recorded a variety of well-known songs as covers, like Half the World Away (by Oasis) for the Christmas advert. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents, May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to take up music for a love rather than a profession. For this reason she wrote her first original compositions. Her influences include renowned authors Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in addition to her love of Bjork's style. She began performing her music in public when her mother said they could help people not gain acclaim for her music, but rather to help those around them see the importance of their work and how they can affect the world. The mother of her child suggested that she sing her songs in public so that people can see the importance of their work and how they could impact the world. She didn't tell her family about it until she turned 14. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. She says she just likes to compose songs. For her, music is the only way to feel anything.
